Launch of Singapore Business Optimism Index
Dun & Bradstreet’s latest Business Optimism Index shows that more local companies are fairly optimistic of the general business condition despite the economy downturn, expecting a rise in volume of sales, net profit, selling price, and employment in Q3 2009 compared to Q2 2009.

Consumers More Prudent In Handling Their Personal Expenses In Tough Economic Climate
New figures, released by the Credit Bureau Singapore (CBS) in June 2009 showed credit card delinquency was lower in April this year than December 2008. Figures also reflect a decrease in credit card balances and decrease in percentage of revolvers.

SME Credit Bureau Malaysia
In a statement to the Malaysian press, prime minister Najib Abdul Razak announced that estimates on Malaysia’s GDP have been revised due to a “far worse than expected external environment”. Currently, Malaysia’s GDP prediction for the year stands at a contraction of 4% to 5%.
